Project 1:

Monroe Airlines

Challenge: Design a mobile app UI and corresponding airplane wrap for a luxury sub brand of Delta Airlines

Goals: Create a sub brand that feels consistent with Delta’s current branding, design the app screens with accessibility in mind

Research + Inspiration

After extensive research into the history of Delta Airlines, I chose to name my luxury sub brand Monroe, as Delta’s original headquarters were founded in Monroe, Louisiana. I wanted to keep my branding somewhat consistent with the current Delta branding as this establishes credibility and trust with consumers. I drew inspiration from some of the original and current Delta logos and brand icons.

Moodboard

Process

My design process centered a lot around accessibility. The purpose of the app and widgets is to deliver important flight information to users, so making sure that the design is easy for users to understand was my goal. I shifted the color palette from my moldboard to still reflect Delta’s branding while allowing Monroe to stand on its own.

Final

The final solution is a clean, easy to navigate mobile design. The limited color palette and the bold type is consistent with the original Delta branding while still allowing Monroe Airlines to stand alone as a luxury brand.
